Emtec to showcase TSA & Virtual Haptic Library at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025
German company Emtec Electronic GmbH will showcase two technologies, the Tactile Sensation Analyzer (TSA) and the Virtual Haptic Library, at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, to be held in Singapore from October 28 to 31. The company is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
This year’s highlight is the TSA (Tactile Sensation Analyze) which measures the hand-feel or haptic properties of fabrics. It is capable of accurately assessing softness, smoothness/roughness, firmness, elasticity, and spring-back behavior. While the hand-feel evaluation of fabrics has traditionally relied on the emotional judgment of experts, in this era of technology, visual capture of samples is performed using high-resolution cameras, and all measured data is directly digitized and connected to a cloud-based virtual haptic library. The latest version of which adds the ability to measure thermal haptics (surface thermal conductivity) and thermal insulation.
One of Emtec’s innovations is that the test results of the Virtual Haptic Library are relatively analyzable and shareable globally, allowing authorized users to access virtual haptic profiles from anywhere in the world. This allows for real-time quality control without having to send physical samples, which reduces transportation costs. Using digital touch profiles instead of sending countless swatches saves both time and money.

Emtec invites visitors to bring their own samples to Booth H3-B303. Markus Amthor (Global Business Development) and James Xiang from Roachelab (Asia) Co. Ltd., our regional sales partner in China, will be present so that visitors can test their own textile samples. They will discuss live demos, results analysis, and the use of this technology in product development and supply chain workflows.
Emtec’s TSA has received the TechTextile North America 2024 New Product Innovation Award for adding a new dimension to textile quality control by combining objective haptic analysis and cloud integration. On the other hand, since 1995, the company has gained a reputation for tactile testing in the paper industry.
Their innovation marks a new chapter in objective hand-feel analysis. It is strengthening quality assurance and moving the textile industry towards Industry 4.0 and digital sustainable transformation.
