Debenhams Group brings AI into seasonal planning with a new merchandising tool

As the busy Golden Quarter begins, Debenhams Group has rolled out a new artificial intelligence tool designed to support sales, stock and pricing decisions across its brands, including PrettyLittleThing, boohoo, boohooMAN, Karen Millen and Debenhams.

The system brings together data on stock levels, pricing and ongoing promotions, giving teams a clearer understanding of how products are performing as customer demand shifts throughout the season. The team can see early signs of changes in buying behaviour and adjust plans much faster than before.

The AI tool doesn’t just analyse information, it can guide decisions and carry out certain actions on its own. This helps the merchandising team save hours each month while improving the speed and accuracy of daily decisions. With the peak shopping period approaching, this added support is expected to strengthen how different teams across the Group plan and coordinate offers.

Debenhams Group began working with Peak, a UiPath company, in June to test how AI could play a bigger role in pricing and promotions. The latest launch builds directly on that partnership.

Dan Finley, CEO of Debenhams Group, said the retailer is leaning into digital tools to keep operations simple and maintain strong value for shoppers. “As a digital-first retailer, we’re embracing AI to make smarter, faster decisions that simplify our operations and enhance the customer experience. This technology will transform how we manage stock and pricing especially during the busy festive season and help us continue to deliver great value and service across all our brands.”

Richard Potter, CEO of Peak, added that intelligent AI systems are becoming a practical part of retail decision-making. “By bringing this level of agentic AI innovation to market, Debenhams Group is setting the benchmark for how technology can transform retail performance today.”
