Next Level Apparel appoints Brett Bjorkman as CEO to lead expansion and sustainability efforts
Next Level Apparel, a family-founded company known for offering premium, ethically sourced blank apparel, has appointed Brett Bjorkman as its new CEO. Bjorkman takes over the role from founder Joe Simsoly, who has retired after decades of building the brand.
This leadership change is seen as a significant step for Next Level Apparel as the company looks to expand its international presence, diversify its supply chain, and strengthen its partnerships with organizations focused on compliance and provenance, such as the Fair Labor Association (FLA), Altana, and Oritain.
Bjorkman, who has 30 years of experience in brand management and wholesale operations, brings a wealth of knowledge from his past roles at major brands like Nike and Boardriders. He has also served as the Chief Operating Officer at Next Level Apparel, where his expertise in operations, sourcing, and sustainability helped streamline processes and improve the company’s efficiency. Bjorkman’s leadership style focuses on transforming complex supply chains into reliable and ethical engines of growth.
Joe Simsoly, the company’s founder, expressed pride in passing the leadership baton to Bjorkman, saying,
Brett has the perfect balance of brand insight and operational rigor, making him the ideal person to lead the company forward. Over the past 18 months, he has worked closely with every part of the business, and I have full confidence that he will continue our commitment to sustainability and excellence.
Bjorkman is already making his mark at Next Level Apparel. He has enhanced operational efficiency, optimized company processes, and reinforced a strong commitment to quality and traceability. “Premium is a behavior,” said Bjorkman. “It’s about doing things right, making products that last, and proving it. This philosophy guides everything we do at Next Level Apparel, from sourcing fabrics responsibly to serving our customers.“
Founded in California, Next Level Apparel has become a key player in the wholesale production of premium blank apparel, with a strong workforce spanning the US, Central America, the Dominican Republic, the EU, and Asia. With over 500 employees, the company remains focused on delivering high-quality, ethically sourced products, ensuring it stays trusted and responsive in the global market for premium blanks.
