Bokser Textiles introduces sustainable bedding collection for hotels
Bokser Textiles has launched a new bedding line designed with sustainability in mind, targeting the hospitality industry. The Vermilion sheeting collection combines polyester infused with Ciclo technology and modal, providing hotels with an effective solution to reduce carbon emissions and tackle microplastic pollution.
Hotels often face challenges when it comes to laundering bedding on a commercial scale. Frequent washing can result in the release of microplastics, which are harmful to the environment. A 2024 study from Ocean Diagnostics and the Raincoast Conservation Foundation revealed that microplastic contamination from hotel laundry can reach as high as 367,000 microfibers per liter of wastewater.
Bokser’s new sheets are infused with Ciclo technology, which accelerates the biodegradation of synthetic fibers. This means that when these fibers are washed, they break down at a rate similar to natural fibers like wool, reducing their environmental impact. As a result, the sheets won’t persist in the environment for centuries, a common issue with traditional synthetic fibers.
The Vermilion collection is produced in certified CarbonNeutral facilities. These facilities are certified by Climate Impact Partners, ensuring that each batch of sheets helps reduce carbon emissions. In fact, for every 1 million sheets produced, an estimated 528 tons of carbon emissions are avoided. Additionally, the manufacturing process saves nearly 1.9 million gallons of water through a zero liquid discharge system that prevents wastewater from entering the environment.
Bokser Textiles plans to expand this environmentally responsible approach, introducing more collections produced in the same carbon-neutral facilities. This move demonstrates their commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices and helping the hospitality industry minimize its ecological footprint.
