Axel Wintermeyer leads KARL MAYER’s Warp Knitting Unit at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025

As the countdown to ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025 in Singapore begins, KARL MAYER’s Warp Knitting Business Unit is gearing up for an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Axel Wintermeyer. Known for his extensive experience and impressive track record within the company, Wintermeyer is poised to bring fresh insights and energy to the forefront of this renowned textile machinery giant.

Wintermeyer, a seasoned manager with 29 years at KARL MAYER, has seen the company grow from strength to strength. He initially made his mark in machinery sales for the Asia-Pacific market, where he played a pivotal role in the company’s entry into India’s machinery business. His efforts were instrumental in increasing market share, particularly in Korea, where he grew the share of weft insertion warp knitting machines from 50% to 95%.

His rise through the ranks continued as he took on roles such as Vice President of Sales at KARL MAYER’s Chemnitz subsidiary, where he boosted the market share of composite machines significantly, from 10% to 50%, by 2013. His success in these roles laid the foundation for his leadership of the spare parts business from 2014 to 2020. Under his guidance, the business evolved into a cornerstone of the company’s success, with the introduction of a spare parts web shop connected to SAP, streamlining customer access and improving overall service.

Wintermeyer’s most recent initiative, the establishment of the CARE SOLUTIONS division, aims to elevate after-sales support further by 2026. The goal of this division is to foster greater customer loyalty and enhance KARL MAYER’s standing in the competitive textile machinery market.

As the new President of the Warp Knitting Business Unit, Wintermeyer is set to bring a wealth of experience to ITMA ASIA + CITME 2025, where KARL MAYER will showcase its latest advancements. With a strong leadership track record and a clear vision for the future, Axel Wintermeyer is ready to lead KARL MAYER’s Warp Knitting Business Unit into the next phase of its growth.
