The circular journey of recycled plastics: from waste to value

Plastics play an essential role in modern life, particularly in packaging, consumer goods, and industrial applications. However, the rapid growth of plastic consumption has also intensified concerns around waste generation, resource depletion, and environmental impact. In response, recycling has emerged as a critical pathway to reduce plastic leakage and move toward a more circular materials economy.

Collection and Sorting

Post-consumer plastic waste is collected from households and commercial sources. Advanced sorting technologies are then used to accurately separate PET, HDPE, PP, and other polymer types, ensuring material purity from the very first stage.

Cleaning and Processing

Once sorted, plastics undergo thorough washing and shredding to remove contaminants. This step produces clean, high-quality flakes or pellets that meet industrial requirements and are ready for further processing.

Recycled Material Production

Recycled materials such as rPET, HDPE, and PP are processed to achieve consistent physical and mechanical properties. With proper quality control and compliance, these materials can be used across a wide range of applications, including food-contact packaging under approved standards.

New Packaging and Products

The recycled polymers are then transformed into bottles, containers, caps, and other packaging solutions. This stage extends the life cycle of plastic materials while reducing reliance on virgin resources.

Back into the Loop

After use, these products can be collected again and reintroduced into the recycling system. This continuous cycle helps close the loop and supports the development of a true circular economy.
