The conventional methods of dyeing cellulosic and synthetic yarns involve multi-step processes that consume significant resources. These methods use up to 95 liters of water per kilogram of colored yarn and generate approximately 94 liters of effluent. In contrast, the QuantumCOLOURTM process developed by COLOURizd™ injects pigment and a binder directly into the yarn, requiring only 0.95 liters of water per kilogram of colored yarn and producing zero effluent. This represents an unprecedented reduction of 98% in water consumption, eliminates wastewater discharge, reduces the carbon footprint by 73%, and cuts energy use by 50%*.

In addition to the QuantumCOLOURTM process, textile manufacturers and apparel brands partnering with Archroma can enhance their sustainable practices by utilizing tailor-made system solutions. For example, Archroma offers JUST COLOR, a pigment coloration system that is formaldehyde-free** and based on the company’s Printofix® pigment dispersions and Helizarin® binders. This system not only produces exceptionally soft fabrics with high fastness and durability but also enables energy and chemical savings, as well as higher productivity.

Archroma, headquartered in Pratteln, Switzerland, operates in 42 countries and has over 5,000 employees across 35 production sites. The company is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that improve people’s lives while respecting the planet. Their commitment to sustainability is reflected in “The Archroma Way to a Sustainable World: Safe, Efficient, Enhanced. It’s our nature!” – an approach that guides their innovations, quality standards, service levels, and cost-efficiency.
