Lenzing updates leadership structure as CEO Rohit Aggarwal prepares to step down

Lenzing AG is preparing for a major shift in its leadership team as Chief Executive Officer Rohit Aggarwal plans to leave his role at the end of January 2026. He is stepping down for personal reasons but will continue advising the company until September 2026 to support a smooth transition.

The Supervisory Board shared its appreciation for his work, noting progress in sharpening the company’s strategic direction, improving profitability, and pushing ahead with the performance programme.

After Aggarwal’s exit, the company will be run by a three-member Managing Board. Lenzing is also setting up a new Executive Committee with six members. Alongside the Managing Board, the committee will include senior commercial leaders Patricia Sargeant for nonwoven fibres, Yann Lepage for textile fibres, and Anton Putz for pulp.

This structure aims to strengthen the company’s commercial focus on high-performance fibre categories and reinforce its position as an integrated producer of regenerated cellulosic fibres.

The search for Lenzing’s next CEO has already started, and an announcement is expected once the Supervisory Board reaches a decision. Chairman Patrick Lackenbucher said the company remains committed to long-term value creation and a business model that can hold steady under changing market conditions. He highlighted that the Managing Board will continue working on competitiveness, financial health, and maintaining Lenzing’s role in sustainable fibre markets.
