Reju has strengthened its circular textile strategy by opening its first research and development (R&D) center in the United States. The new facility, located in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, is expected to accelerate the commercialization of the company’s polyester textile-to-textile recycling technology.
The R&D center is situated within Technip Energies’ Advanced Materials and Catalysts research campus. It is designed to bridge laboratory innovation with industrial-scale deployment, enabling faster development and validation of recycling technologies before commercial implementation.
The investment reflects the growing momentum behind fiber-to-fiber recycling as the global textile industry seeks scalable solutions to reduce textile waste and dependence on virgin polyester. Reju is developing technologies that recover polyester from post-consumer and post-industrial textile waste, supporting the transition toward a circular textile economy.
According to the company, the new laboratory will focus on process optimization, material testing, and technology validation to improve the efficiency and scalability of polyester recycling. The center will also support collaboration with industry partners as Reju expands its commercial operations.
The opening of the US R&D hub comes as global apparel brands and manufacturers face increasing pressure to integrate recycled materials into their supply chains and meet ambitious climate and circularity targets. Investment in advanced recycling technologies is expected to play a critical role in meeting future demand for high-quality recycled polyester.
