Beontag launches ultra-soft RFID care label for seamless apparel integration

Beontag has launched Fiberwave Soft, a premium extra-soft UHF RFID care label designed to be embedded directly into apparel.

The solution enables fashion, luxury and premium brands to replace external adhesive tags or stiff woven labels with a textile-integrated RFID solution. According to Beontag, the label is designed to maintain softness, comfort and garment finishing while supporting item-level traceability across the supply chain.

RFID adoption in apparel has often involved a compromise between tracking performance and the tactile experience of a garment. Fiberwave Soft is designed to address this challenge through a proprietary ultra-soft textile structure that feels similar to the surrounding fabric, including when placed against the skin.

The label is intended to provide reliable UHF RFID performance for applications ranging from factory operations and inventory management to point-of-sale processes and supply chain visibility.

Designed for apparel manufacturing

Fiberwave Soft is designed to fit into existing garment manufacturing processes without major retooling. Brands can customise the label’s size, shape, print and branding to suit different products and positioning requirements.

“Luxury and apparel brands should never have to decide between digital efficiency and physical comfort,” said Horta in a statement. “Fiberwave Soft embeds intelligence into the fabric itself, protecting both the brand’s quality image and the end-consumer’s experience. It’s the new standard for discrete, high-performance smart labels.”

The technology also offers an option for brands preparing for Digital Product Passport (DPP) requirements in the European Union. Alongside UHF RFID, Fiberwave Soft can be printed with a serialized QR code that can serve as a consumer-facing gateway to product information, including origins, care instructions, repair details and circularity data.

This combination allows brands to use RFID for operational efficiency while adding a digital layer for consumer access and future compliance requirements.

“With Fiberwave Soft, brands can start with world-class embedded RFID comfort, then seamlessly layer on DPP compliance without changing the label or the manufacturing process,” stated Horta.
