Recover and H&M deepen partnership to scale recycled cotton use

Recover has entered a multi-year agreement with H&M to expand the use of its recycled cotton fiber, RCotton, across H&M’s product range. The partnership builds on joint development work that began in early 2024 and now moves into full commercial production.

Recover, with more than 75 years of experience in textile recycling, operates recycling hubs across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. These facilities are designed to process textile waste close to production sources, providing reliable, traceable, and consistent-quality recycled fibers. For a global fashion group like H&M, this combination of traceability, performance, and steady supply is key to integrating recycled materials on a larger scale.

“We’re proud to enter this partnership with H&M Group,” said Anders Sjöblom, CEO of Recover. “Reliable access to recycled fibers at scale, with full traceability and quality consistency, is vital for the industry’s transformation. Our collaboration shows how innovators and leading brands can work together to make circular fashion more accessible.”

H&M has committed to using only recycled or sustainably sourced materials by 2030. As part of this goal, the company continues to invest in technologies and infrastructure that reduce dependence on virgin resources.

“At H&M Group, we want to grow our business decoupled from resource extraction,” said Ulf Krigsman, Head of Material & Components at H&M. “Recover’s expertise and proven ability to deliver recycled cotton at commercial scale make them a valuable partner in reaching our sustainability targets.”

The expanded partnership highlights how collaboration between material specialists and global fashion brands can accelerate the shift toward circular production—turning textile waste into new, quality products that stay in use longer.
