Circulose and Jilin Chemical partner to scale recycled viscose yarn

Circulose has entered into a strategic partnership with Jilin Chemical Fiber to bring viscose filament yarn made with CIRCULOSE® to the global market between 2026 and 2028. The collaboration aims to accelerate the large-scale adoption of recycled textile fibers.
Jilin’s viscose filament yarn, branded as JIRECELL®, is currently produced with a mix of 30% CIRCULOSE® and 70% certified wood pulp. The company plans to increase the recycled content to 50% in the coming years. After years of joint development and testing, both companies are now scaling production to meet proven international demand for circular viscose filament yarn.

Jilin has committed to purchasing increasing volumes of CIRCULOSE® pulp every year. Any pulp not used in JIRECELL® will be blended into Jilin’s wider fiber portfolio at lower concentrations, ensuring consistent demand for recycled raw materials. This approach aligns with the company’s ongoing work with Canopy, a non-profit that supports the textile industry’s shift away from Ancient and Endangered Forest inputs toward circular alternatives.
