Mechanical recycled cotton at Dornbirn-GFC — scaling circular solutions

The Dornbirn-GFC is a long-standing global fiber congress held annually in Austria, bringing together experts across the textile industry to discuss fiber technologies, sustainability, and circularity. As part of the ReHubs program, a panel titled “Mechanical Recycled Cotton — Scalable Solutions Driving Circular Transformation” featured key voices working to expand the role of recycled cotton in industrial production.

During this session, Marta Fabra, Global Quality Director at Recover™, shared how the company’s mechanically recycled cotton has progressed from limited-scale use to a viable industrial material. This shift has been made possible by improvements in fiber processing, tighter quality control, and better management of waste inputs.
Recover™ cotton is now widely used in fashion, helping brands reduce environmental impact while meeting carbon reduction goals. It also maintains the technical standards required by yarn and fabric manufacturers, making it a practical choice for large-scale production.
The panel included representatives from Resortecs, Refashion, Samsara Eco, and Rubber Conversion, each contributing perspectives on how their organizations are working toward a more circular textile industry. The audience engagement reflected growing interest in scalable recycling solutions that can be integrated into existing supply chains.
Recover™ continues to invite collaboration from brands and manufacturers looking to lower their environmental footprint through recycled cotton.
