ITMF and IAF host successful joint convention in yogyakarta

The second joint convention of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) and the International Apparel Federation (IAF) took place this year in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Organized in partnership with the Indonesian Textile Association (API), the event attracted over 400 delegates from around the world, representing various sectors of the textile and apparel value chain.

The convention featured sessions that addressed key challenges currently facing the industry. Topics ranged from the adoption of new technologies to changing regulations, fibre innovation, and the ongoing issue of audit fatigue. A significant focus was also placed on decarbonisation efforts within the sector and the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming the textile and apparel industries.

In addition to the conference sessions, delegates had the opportunity to visit several companies in Indonesia’s textile ecosystem. These visits provided valuable on-the-ground insights into local industry practices and innovations. Participants toured leading companies, including Dan Liris, Pan Brothers, Ambassador Garmindo, Gallery Batik Jawa, Golden Tekstil Indonesia (GTI), and Ungaran Sari Garment.

The convention served as a platform for networking and collaboration, highlighting both the global challenges and the solutions being explored within the textile and apparel industries.
