Circ® and Zalando collaborate to launch sustainable fashion collection

Circ®, a leading innovator in textile recycling, has announced its first collaboration with Zalando, Europe’s largest online fashion and lifestyle platform. The partnership brings to life the first-ever pieces from Zalando’s private label Anna Field, made with Circ Lyocell, a next-generation material derived partially from recycled polycotton textile waste.

The collection, launched on July 1st, features a blouse and dress in a stone-washed, dark blue color, both crafted from 100% Circ Lyocell. Notably, 40% of these garments consist of recycled textile waste. This launch marks an important milestone in Zalando’s ongoing effort to incorporate more sustainable, recycled materials into its product offerings.

Anna Field, one of Zalando’s six private labels, focuses on contemporary, feminine style. With a commitment to inclusivity and sustainability, Anna Field serves as the perfect platform for exploring how circular fashion can become more accessible, offering quality, comfort, and design at affordable prices. The brand’s collaboration with Circ is part of Zalando’s wider sustainability strategy and commitment to circularity.

Zalando’s investment in Circ further supports the development of closed-loop supply chains. By incorporating Circ Lyocell into its private label, Zalando continues to make strides towards more sustainable fashion practices, reducing reliance on virgin materials and minimizing waste.

Peter Majeranowski, CEO of Circ, emphasized the importance of showing that recycled materials can match or even surpass the quality of virgin fabrics. “Zalando’s scale and ambition make them an ideal partner for demonstrating what’s possible,” he said. The collaboration with Anna Field is a key step in making circular fashion more accessible to consumers across Europe.

Aylin Dobberstein, VP of Private Label & Product Supply at Zalando, expressed excitement over the launch: “Partnering with Circ allows us to incorporate high-quality recycled materials into our designs, expanding our sustainable assortment without sacrificing affordability.”

Circ Lyocell is produced from polycotton, a challenging material to recycle that often ends up in landfills or is incinerated. Circ’s textile-to-textile recycling process recovers polycotton blends and transforms them into high-quality lyocell fiber, providing a sustainable alternative to traditional textiles.

The Anna Field collection marks the first of several collaborations between Zalando and Circ, with more styles and brands to feature Circ materials in the coming months. This launch aligns with Circ’s Fiber Club initiative, which seeks to expand the use of recycled textiles in mainstream fashion.
