Reju & Cibutex join forces to build circular textile ecosystem

Textile regeneration company Rejuโ„ข and cooperative Cibutex have announced a strategic partnership to establish a circular textile ecosystem, aiming to transform post-consumer textile waste into valuable raw materials.

Through this collaboration, Cibutex member companies will supply secondary raw materials to Reju, which will be recycled into regenerated Reju Polyesterโ„ข. With a 50% lower carbon footprint than virgin polyester and the ability to be infinitely regenerated, Reju Polyesterโ„ข will be produced at the companyโ€™s Regeneration Hub Zero in Frankfurt, Germany, set to be fully operational in 2025.

Patrik Frisk, CEO of Reju, emphasized that the partnership aligns perfectly with Rejuโ€™s mission to tackle textile waste and build infrastructure that keeps resources out of landfills. Jan Lamme, CEO of Cibutex, highlighted the importance of traceability and quality in achieving a closed-loop supply chain for business textiles.

As the EUโ€™s mandate for textile waste collection takes effect this year, this collaboration is positioned to meet regulatory demands while driving sustainability and innovation in the textile industry.
