Textile Exchange announces 2025 Climate and Nature Impact Award winners in Lisbon
The Textile Exchange Conference wrapped up this week with a celebration of the 2025 Climate and Nature Impact Award winners. The ceremony took place at Estufa Fria botanical gardens in Lisbon, where honorees were recognized for their contributions to climate action and ecological stewardship across the fashion and textile industry.
Four awards were presented, each highlighting a distinct area of impact:
- Textile-to-Textile Recycling Partnership — Recover and Intradeco were recognized for their localized recycling systems. The selection committee noted their infrastructure development and practical approach to circularity.
- Ryan Young Climate Leader — Pablo Roberto Borrelli, co-founder of Ovis 21, was honored for his work in grassland regeneration. His efforts include farmer support services and educational programs that promote sustainable grazing practices.
- Regenerative Land Leadership — James Brodie received this award for his long-term commitment to regenerative farming. His work has helped other producers adopt similar methods, contributing to broader ecosystem restoration.
- Collaboration in Action — Victoria’s Secret & Co. and their Alabama farm partners were commended for building a fully traceable U.S. cotton program. The committee highlighted the co-design process with growers, emphasizing shared responsibility between brand and producer.
The awards reflect Textile Exchange’s 2030 Climate+ strategy, which encourages measurable progress across supply chains. This year’s recipients were selected for their practical contributions and collaborative mindset, not just their technical achievements.
The event drew attention from sustainability leaders, supply chain experts, and regenerative agriculture advocates, many of whom praised the emphasis on traceability and farmer-led solutions.
