Artistic Denim Mills earns TRUECYCLED certification for textile recycling

Artistic Denim Mills Ltd (ADM), one of Pakistan’s established denim manufacturers, has been awarded the TRUECYCLED certificate by Trützschler, recognising its work in processing recycled textile fibres for yarn production.

Based in Karachi, ADM was established in 1993 and has developed an integrated denim manufacturing operation covering activities from spinning preparation through to garment production. The company’s latest certification adds a further focus on the traceability and consistency of its textile recycling processes.

Through its recycling facility, ADM uses Trützschler’s spinning preparation technology and textile recycling expertise to produce rotor and ring yarns containing 30% recycled denim fibres and 70% virgin Pakistani cotton. The yarns are produced in counts ranging from Ne 6 to Ne 30 and are used to manufacture durable denim fabrics.

The TRUECYCLED solution covers the preparation stages required to process textile waste into fibres suitable for spinning. According to Trützschler, the process includes opening and cleaning, followed by carding and drawing of the secondary fibres. The company says its integrated approach is designed to support consistent processing and yarn quality when working with recycled textile materials.

For ADM, the certification provides a way to demonstrate how recycled denim waste is being incorporated into its yarn production while maintaining the quality requirements of denim manufacturing. The company’s 30% recycled-fibre blend also shows how post-production or pre-consumer textile materials can be combined with virgin cotton in commercial yarn applications.

The certification was marked in the presence of Mushtaq Ahmed, Trützschler Engineer; Nico Sieben, Area Manager Pakistan at Trützschler Group; Muhammad Amjad Khan, Director Operations at Artistic Denim Mills Limited; and Ali Bin Tahir, Agent and Director of Machpart.

ADM now joins Trützschler’s growing group of TRUECYCLED reference customers using specialised spinning preparation technology to turn textile waste into recycled yarns. Trützschler describes TRUECYCLED as a complete solution covering textile waste preparation through to carding and drawing, with the aim of producing high-quality yarn from recycled fibres.
