Daphne Poon, Communications Director at ITMA Services, remarked while delivering her presentation, “I’m delighted to extend a warm personal invitation to this unmissable exhibition for the textile industry amid ongoing global challenges such as pandemic-induced supply chain disruption, EU Textile Strategy 2030 next, advancing from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0, embracing innovations like IoT, AI, automation, robotics, and human-machine collaboration. We’re also excited to announce that Bangladesh Textile Today has been appointed as our official badge sales agent in Bangladesh.”

This year’s event will spotlight ‘Trends Impacting Bangladesh Textile Industry’ and global ‘Legislations & Regulations,’ while showcasing end-to-end solutions for a smarter, greener, and more competitive global textile ecosystem.

The event was graced by distinguished industry leaders who shared their perspectives on the importance of this exhibition for Bangladesh:

Special Guest, Fazlee Shamim Ehsan, Executive President of Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) and Managing Director of Fatullah Apparels Ltd., said, “The unpredictability of U.S. trade policy contrasts with the EU’s structured legislative approach. To comply with upcoming EU regulations, our industry must prioritize recycling and reuse—requiring significant investment. ITMA ASIA + CITME offers a vital platform to explore technologies and make informed decisions for this transition.”

Special Guest of the event, Hossain Mehmood, Chairman of the Bangladesh Terry Towel and Linen Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BTTLMEA) and Director of the Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), added, “Fashion is constantly evolving, and keeping pace with these changes remains a significant challenge for the textile industry. Meanwhile, Distinguished Guest, Engr. Ehsanul Karim Kaiser, Convener of The Institution of Textile Engineers and Technologists (ITET), Bangladesh, said, “Survival today requires more than buying machines. To stay competitive, participating textile engineers must assess energy use, sustainability, and environmental impact, so that, ITMA equips them to make informed, future-ready decisions.”

Distinguished Guest, Al Shahriar Ahmed, President of the Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) and Managing Director of Adzi Trims Ltd. (Indet Group), commented, “The trims, packaging, and accessories industry in Bangladesh has now become self-sufficient. We will encourage our 2,200 member companies to join ITMA, so they can modernize themselves with the latest information, technology, and ideas — ultimately making this industry more competitive and sustainable.”

Representing the Chief Guest, BGMEA President, Majumdar Arifur Rahman, Director of BGMEA and Managing Director of Magpie Composite Textile Ltd., said, “With an export volume of 39.35 billion dollars, Bangladesh stands as the world’s second-largest apparel exporter. However, our global market share is still only 6.9%, which highlights the need to shift from volume-based growth to value-based growth. To achieve this, we must invest more in woven, functional, and technical textiles, as well as adopt energy- and resource-efficient technologies and automation.”

He also emphasized the importance of strengthening backward linkage industries to enhance the overall value addition in garments. “ITMA serves as the ideal platform to explore and identify the right technologies and solutions that can help Bangladesh move forward in this direction,” he added.

Supporting the event, Enamul Hafiz Latifee, Chief Research Officer of Bangladesh Textile Today said, “The post-LDC graduation, adopting sustainable and efficient textile technologies is essential.
