Techtextil India partners with SPE India to launch ReCycle Zone

Techtextil India 2025 is set to make a significant contribution to the growing movement of circularity in the textile industry. The event, scheduled for November 19-21, 2025, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai, will introduce the “ReCycle Zone.” This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Society of Plastics Engineers India (SPE India), will focus on recycling, reusing, and reimagining materials to push environmental responsibility in the technical textiles sector.

As global industries adopt circular economy practices, this new zone will become a key platform for turning textile and plastic waste into valuable materials. It aims to bring together recyclers, solution providers, machinery manufacturers, startups, and policy enablers in one place, promoting collaboration and innovation in recycling technologies.

Raj Manek, Executive Director at Messe Frankfurt Asia Holdings Ltd, emphasized the significance of the ReCycle Zone, calling it a timely addition to Techtextil India.

As environmental stewardship becomes central to the industry’s future, this platform will not only spotlight sustainable technologies but also encourage transformative partnerships across the sector,” Manek said.

The ReCycle Zone will highlight various aspects of textile waste management and circularity. It will feature companies specializing in:

By bringing together buyers, suppliers, researchers, and sustainability experts, the ReCycle Zone aims to bridge the gap between innovation and practical implementation.

To deepen the technical discussions, SPE India will organize knowledge sessions and panel discussions within the zone. These will cover topics like circular product design, industry compliance, advances in waste recovery, and green tech investment opportunities. Ramesh Parasuraman, President of SPE India, pointed out that the partnership with Techtextil India would not only showcase sustainable solutions but also foster critical dialogues and partnerships across industries.

The ReCycle Zone also aligns with India’s national goals of sustainable manufacturing, driven by initiatives like LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) and PM MITRA Parks (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel). As technical textiles are increasingly used in sectors such as defence, healthcare, automotive, and agriculture, incorporating recycling and circular design in their production processes is crucial.

This addition reinforces Messe Frankfurt India’s role in fostering a sustainable business ecosystem. The 2025 edition of Techtextil India, marking its 10th year, will feature 12 diverse application areas—from protective wear and functional fabrics to smart textiles, filtration, and mobility solutions. It promises three days of business, innovation, and networking, bringing together global and local exhibitors, solution providers, institutional buyers, and key industry players.

Before Techtextil India, on November 18, 2025, the Dornbirn Global Fibre Conference, one of the top global events for fibre and material innovations, will take place at NESCO, Mumbai. This will further complement the conversation and action surrounding sustainable textiles.
