Prof. Xungai is now the Vice President (Academic), Zhiyuan Chief Professor at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University and former Chair Professor of Fiber Science and Technology at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prof. Dr. Wang Xungai is internationally acknowledged for his pioneering contributions to fiber materials research and textile technology advancement.
He also served as Director of the Institute for Frontier Materials and later as Pro Vice-Chancellor at Deakin University, where Prof. Dr. Wang Xungai played a vital role in advancing interdisciplinary research and innovation.
A Fellow of The Textile Institute and recipient of the prestigious Fiber Society Distinguished Achievement Award, Prof. Dr. Wang Xungai has made exceptional contributions to global textile research and academic leadership. Prof. Dr. Wang Xungai also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Textile Institute, shaping scholarly discourse within the textile science community.
The research of Prof. Dr. Wang Xungai focuses on sustainable and functional fiber materials, yarn technology, textile processing, and advanced characterization technologies, with a strong emphasis on innovation-driven sustainability.
