From 28 to 31 October 2025, Oerlikon will showcase its latest solutions for yarn and fiber production at ITMA Asia + CITME in Singapore. Visitors can find the company in Hall 4, booth C204, where the Swiss group will present technologies from its Oerlikon Barmag, Oerlikon Neumag, and Oerlikon Nonwoven brands. The focus is clear: productive processes with greater efficiency and sustainability.
atmos.io – the digital backbone of smart yarn production
A highlight is atmos.io, Oerlikon’s digital operating system for yarn manufacturing. Designed as the core for every machine, whether in pilot plants or large-scale production, atmos.io gives yarn makers the tools for data-driven operations. Its app store allows manufacturers to choose exactly the features they need. Every bobbin carries its own production data, enabling full traceability from melt to warehouse. The system integrates into existing IT environments, reduces waste, improves yarn quality, and supports shop floor staff with easier monitoring. Strong data infrastructure and cybersecurity ensure reliable and secure process control.
Expanding possibilities in filament spinning
Oerlikon Barmag will present WINGS FDY FLEX, a winding solution for the FDY process that offers a wide production window. It supports short-term product changes and diverse yarn types, including recycled polyester. Visitors will also get a first look at the next generation of POY production, providing insight into how yarn spinning is evolving.
eFK EvoSmart – energy-focused texturing
The eFK EvoSmart machine combines proven texturing technology with energy-saving features. It uses EvoHeater and Smart Godets to cut energy use by up to 25% per kilogram of yarn. Maintenance is simplified with replaceable heater inserts, extending intervals and reducing downtime by 50%. This improves plant availability while lowering costs. Designed for weaving, knitting, and finishing applications, the machine ensures consistent yarn quality across processes.
Efficiency gains in staple fiber production
Oerlikon Neumag is advancing synthetic staple fiber production with its EvoSteam process. This technology reduces energy use while improving fiber quality. EvoDuct enhances air flow distribution with lower pressure drops, while EvE-2 improves air extraction with redesigned nozzles that reduce turbulence. Maintenance is easier thanks to external extraction.
The spin pack wiping robot, already proven in filament spinning, is now also available for staple fiber production. It delivers consistent cleaning quality, longer intervals between cleanings, lower personnel costs, and environmentally safer use of silicone spray.
New yarn solutions for carpets
For carpet manufacturers, Oerlikon Neumag is introducing its BICO BCF technology. The process delivers yarn with higher pile strength, better recovery, and about 20% less face fiber use—resulting in lighter carpets without losing performance.
FiberGuard BCF, another new development, uses sensors and software to monitor yarn tension in real time and adjust processes automatically. The system reduces waste, increases efficiency, and can be retrofitted to existing machines.
Nonwovens technology for filtration and beyond
Oerlikon Nonwoven will highlight hycuTEC, a patented unit that improves the efficiency of polypropylene meltblown nonwovens through high electrostatic charging with osmosis-treated water. The result is filtration efficiency of 99.99%.
In the spunbond segment, Oerlikon offers high-performance lines suited for demanding applications such as water filtration, including BiCo processes with polyester and co-polyester polymers.
