Mayer & Cie. to bring Industry 4.0-ready knitting solutions to ITMA Asia 2025

German circular knitting machine manufacturer Mayer & Cie. will be showcasing its latest innovations at ITMA Asia + CITME 2025, held in Singapore from October 28 to 31. The company will be present at the exhibition in Singapore from October 28 to 31 in Hall 5, Stand D301, and this year’s highlights include the new OVJA 2.4 EC II circular knitting machine for jacquard fabrics, their highly efficient Performance Line and digital tools such as Control 5.0 and KnitHawk.

Specifically designed for jacquard fabric, the OVJA 2.4 EC II machine was designed in Germany and manufactured in China. It has a new single-needle selection system with a low cylinder height and minimum knitting materials needed, which helps to save money and energy. This machine reflects the company’s commitment to efficiency by combining energy efficiency and versatility. It is particularly suitable for the production of sportswear, leisure wear and home textiles such as mattress covers.

At the exhibition, Mayer & Cie will be showcasing the machines from its ‘Performance Line’ alongside the OVJA 2.4 EC II. The four machines improve productivity standards in the circular knitting sector. Among them, the D4 4.4 HPI is known as the world’s most productive interlock machine and is capable of producing up to 600 kg of fabric per day. On the other hand, the OV 3.2 QCe is reliable for double jersey structures and produces about 650 kg of fine rib fabric per day. At the top of the line for single jersey production is the Relanit series (Relanit 4.0 and Relanit 3.2 HS II) which is capable of producing up to 1,700 kg of plain single jersey and up to about 1,000 kg of elastomeric plating fabric per day. The high energy efficiency of these machines is particularly appreciated in the textile market.

The Control 5.0 machine control system has been on the market since mid-2025, making circular knitting machines internet-ready and connecting them to the company’s digital platform ‘knitlink’. In today’s digital age, Mayer & Cie has introduced this IoT-ready machine control system. Smart Control and Classic Control allow users to benefit from real-time data, and predictive maintenance to increase productivity, and ensure sustainability.

Another highlight of the exhibition is the optical defect detection system knithawk. It uses an infrared light camera and continuously scans the fabric. Its special feature is that it stops the machine if serious or repeated defects are detected.  Keeping records of errors and preventing waste saves yarn, energy and water and improves fabric quality. This system can be retrofitted with an upgrade kit.
