Lenzing appoints Milena Ioveva as Vice President for communications and sustainability

Austrian fibre producer Lenzing has named Milena Ioveva as Vice President with responsibility for Corporate Communications, Sustainability, Investor Relations and Public Affairs.

Ioveva brings years of experience from the construction sector. Before joining Lenzing, she worked as Director of Communications and Strategy at the Porr Group and earlier led investor relations for Vienna-based construction company UBM.

Lenzing CEO Rohit Aggarwal said the company’s continued global growth makes clear communication with stakeholders essential. He highlighted Ioveva’s ability to deliver results during periods of change and her strong background in capital markets and strategy as key strengths that will support Lenzing’s ambitions.

The company has recently returned to growth. In 2024, Lenzing reported sales of US $2.89 billion, up 5.7% from the previous year, with net income of US $644 million. The business, best known for its wood-based cellulose fibres, went through major restructuring last year following Brazilian conglomerate Suzano’s purchase of a 15% stake. The move also brought changes in top management.

On a global scale, cellulose fibres account for about 5% of total fibre production, compared with polyester at 57% and cotton at 20%. Lenzing is aiming to strengthen its role by promoting its sustainable, wood-derived alternatives as a response to the pressure on cotton farming and the environmental impact of synthetics and untreated natural fibres.
