Intrinsic Advanced Materials will introduce a new range of luxury home textiles at Heimtextil 2026, taking place January 13–16 in Frankfurt. The collection brings together TENCEL™ fibers sourced from certified or controlled wood with CiCLO® biodegradable polyester technology, aiming to balance comfort, durability, and reduced environmental impact for home and hospitality use.
The development reflects growing demand from hotels and home brands for materials that feel premium while addressing long-term environmental concerns. By blending naturally soft cellulosic fibers with biodegradable synthetic innovation, the partners present an option designed for high-use products such as sheets, pillows, and comforters.
CiCLO technology is a patented textile ingredient that allows polyester and nylon fibers to biodegrade naturally once they reach environments where moisture and microorganisms are present. The technology is embedded at the fiber level, creating pathways that attract naturally occurring microbes. This process helps synthetic fibers break down more quickly than conventional polyester, while still maintaining durability and performance during everyday use. Fabrics behave like traditional synthetics throughout their service life and only begin biodegrading after prolonged environmental exposure.
In this collection, CiCLO fibers are blended with TENCEL fibers, which are known for their softness, breathability, and moisture management. The result is a textile that delivers a smooth hand feel and consistent comfort, while offering a reduced environmental footprint at the fiber level. The CiCLO component is certified by OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT, complies with REACH requirements, and is verified as non-toxic to marine and plant life.
For hospitality brands, material performance remains critical. The new textiles are designed to withstand frequent laundering and commercial use, supporting long product life without compromising comfort. At the same time, third-party testing using ASTM methods confirms a reduction in the persistence of synthetic microplastic fibers once the materials enter the environment.

By combining CiCLO technology with TENCEL fibers, we are offering bedding materials that feel luxurious, perform reliably, and support long-term sustainability goals for manufacturers and brands.”
From Lenzing’s perspective, the partnership reflects a broader shift in home textiles toward responsible material choices. Walter Bridgham, Senior Business Development Manager Home, North America at Lenzing AG, noted that manufacturers are seeking solutions that address comfort and environmental responsibility at the same time. “Bringing TENCEL fibers together with CiCLO technology gives mills the ability to design fabrics that meet commercial demands while aligning with responsible manufacturing practices,” he said.
The collaboration also emphasizes ease of adoption. Mills can integrate these fibers as a drop-in solution without changing equipment or processes, making it practical for large-scale production. Traceability and science-based validation further support brand and retailer requirements for responsible product development.
Visitors to Heimtextil 2026 will be able to view a range of fabric constructions and product concepts developed through this partnership. The collection will be showcased at the CiCLO Technology booth in Hall 4.0, Booth E28, and at Lenzing’s booth in Hall 4.0, Booth B11, offering a close look at how fiber-level design is influencing the next generation of home and hospitality textiles.
