Epson launches SureColor F20030 to boost high-volume digital textile printing in Southeast Asia

Epson has strengthened its industrial digital textile printing portfolio with the launch of the SureColor F20030, a new 76-inch dye-sublimation printer designed to support high-volume textile production across Southeast Asia.

The latest addition comes as textile manufacturers and print-on-demand businesses increasingly adopt digital printing technologies to meet rising demand for shorter production runs, personalised designs and faster delivery times.

Built for high-speed textile production

The SureColor F20030 is engineered for industrial-scale production, featuring eight Epson PrecisionCore MicroTFP printheads arranged horizontally – double the four-printhead configuration used in its predecessor, the SureColor F11030.

According to Epson, the printer can achieve production speeds of up to 306 square metres per hour at a resolution of 600 × 600 dpi, enabling manufacturers to increase output while maintaining consistent print quality.

The enhanced performance is designed to help textile printers respond more efficiently to today’s fast-changing market demands.

Supporting the shift to digital textile printing

Digital textile printing continues to gain momentum across Southeast Asia as brands seek greater flexibility, faster turnaround times and more customised production.

Epson cited findings from its Digital Textile Printing Trends in Southeast Asia report, conducted in collaboration with IDC, which suggests that businesses adopting digital dye-sublimation technology could achieve revenue growth up to eight times faster than conventional screen-printing operations.

The report identified sportswear, home textiles and footwear as some of the fastest-growing application areas for digital dye-sublimation printing.

Designed for continuous production

To minimise interruptions during long production runs, the SureColor F20030 uses Epson UltraChrome DS ink with a 10-litre bulk ink supply system.

Its hot-swap ink function automatically switches to a second ink pack of the same colour when the first becomes empty, allowing operators to replace depleted ink without stopping production.

The printer also features a built-in drying system that heats both sides of the transfer media during printing. This helps cure the ink more effectively while reducing ink transfer and media wrinkling, contributing to more stable production.

Reducing maintenance and downtime

Epson has incorporated several features aimed at improving reliability and lowering maintenance requirements.

An integrated media cleaner and intake fan help reduce dust accumulation inside the printer, minimising the risk of nozzle clogging and maintaining consistent print performance.

For businesses running extended production schedules, optional jumbo roll and reel units can support media rolls weighing up to 300 kilograms, reducing the frequency of media changes and improving operational efficiency.

In addition, operators can replace selected maintenance components including the printhead and anti-drying cap using the printer’s built-in diagnostic functions, helping reduce downtime and dependence on on-site service visits.

Meeting the needs of a changing industry

Commenting on the launch, Noelle Gonzalez, Head of Marketing at Epson Philippines, said the new printer has been developed to address the evolving needs of Southeast Asia’s textile printing industry.

“As Southeast Asia’s textile printing industry evolves, flexibility, responsiveness and production stability are becoming critical to long-term success.”

She added that the SureColor F20030 expands Epson’s industrial dye-sublimation portfolio to better support businesses facing higher production volumes, tighter delivery schedules and increasingly complex print workflows.

According to Gonzalez, the new solution reflects Epson’s ongoing commitment to helping customers improve operational efficiency while supporting more sustainable digital textile printing practices.

Expanding digital printing capabilities

As the textile industry continues its transition towards digital manufacturing, high-speed dye-sublimation technologies are becoming increasingly important for manufacturers seeking greater flexibility, reduced waste and improved productivity.

With the introduction of the SureColor F20030, Epson aims to provide textile producers and print service providers with a scalable solution capable of meeting the growing demands of modern apparel, sportswear, home textile and footwear production.
