DBL Group MD joins circular textile workshop in Bangladesh

M. A. Jabbar, Managing Director of DBL Group, recently took part in a significant policy-level workshop dedicated to advancing circularity in Bangladesh’s textile industry. The event, titled the Multi-Stakeholder Workshop on Circular Textile in Bangladesh, was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in partnership with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Policy Exchange Bangladesh.
Held with the objective of fostering meaningful collaboration, the workshop brought together representatives from government, industry, academia, and development sectors. Through open dialogue and exchange of ideas, the participants sought to identify practical steps toward establishing a more circular and sustainable textile ecosystem in the country.
As a distinguished panelist, Mr. Jabbar shared insights from DBL Group’s experience and emphasized the importance of innovation, shared responsibility, and long-term commitment to environmental and economic resilience. His contributions highlighted the role of private sector leadership in shaping a future-ready textile industry that aligns with both global sustainability goals and local development needs.
The workshop served as a platform to co-develop strategies that can accelerate the transition toward circular textile practices such as reducing waste, reusing materials, and improving resource efficiency. It also underscored the shared responsibility among producers, policymakers, and international partners to address environmental challenges while supporting the growth of Bangladesh’s vital textile sector.
