Burberry appoints Matteo Calonaci and Johnattan Leon to key executive roles

Burberry has made two important executive appointments, announcing Matteo Calonaci as Chief Operating and Supply Chain Officer, and Johnattan Leon as Chief Customer Officer, effective immediately. Both leaders will now be part of the executive committee and will report directly to CEO Joshua Schulman.

Calonaci, who previously served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Transformation, takes on a broader role. He will now oversee Burberry’s supply chain and planning, strategy and transformation, as well as data and analytics. His appointment comes as he succeeds Klaus Bierbrauer, who will depart after a transition period following the winter show.

Leon, former Senior Vice President of Commercial and Chief of Staff, will lead Burberry’s customer, client engagement, customer service, and retail excellence teams. He will also be in charge of the company’s digital, outlet, and commercial operations, focusing on enhancing the customer experience across various platforms.

CEO Joshua Schulman expressed confidence in the new appointments, saying, “Both Matteo and Johnattan have been instrumental in strengthening our focus on executional excellence and elevating our customer experience. Their deep understanding of our business, our people, and our customers gives me full confidence that their leadership will help drive Burberry Forward.“

These moves reflect Burberry’s commitment to strengthening its operational efficiency and customer-centric approach, as the company continues to refine its strategy for future growth.
