Bestseller has committed $3 million to the Regenerative Fund for Nature to support regenerative agriculture projects in South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
The fund, launched in 2021 by Conservation International and Kering, with Inditex joining in 2023, works with local communities to restore ecosystems and promote sustainable farming.
Bestseller’s funding will strengthen ongoing initiatives led by sheep farmers and shepherds. These projects focus on restoring grasslands, improving soil resilience, enhancing animal welfare, and reducing climate-related risks.
The Eastern Cape is a biodiversity-rich region and a critical water resource area. Local partnerships are reviving traditional grazing practices to improve both environmental sustainability and community livelihoods.
The program has already delivered measurable benefits over the past five years. The new investment is expected to expand its impact across the region.
The initiative aligns with Bestseller’s Fashion FWD strategy, which integrates biodiversity and ecosystem restoration into its value chain. The company sees regenerative agriculture as key to securing long-term raw material availability for the textile industry.
