AUTEX (Association of Universities for Textiles) is an international network and conference series that works for the advancement of textile science and technology. During June 11-13, 2025, it was held in Dresden, Germany. Some important topics were covered at the conference, like research, sustainable textiles, smart fabrics, and digital manufacturing.
This conference featured proceedings of nearly 300 papers and posters published in Scopus-indexed Springer volumes. At the same time, technological topics such as sustainability, smart textiles, AI in textiles, 3D/4D body scanning, medical textiles, robotics, etc. were covered.
AUTEX is an internationally recognized group of universities dedicated to the textile and garment industries, but overall, it is a group of scientists with a unique passion: ‘the textile’ in all its shapes.

The main objective of AUTEX is to facilitate cooperation in the development of high-level textile courses among its member universities, ensuring curriculum development and mutual learning. It encourages collaborative innovation in textile science and technology.
AUTEX is dedicated to promote the activities, achievements, and innovations of its member institutions at both European and global levels. It will increase the impact of textile academia and industry worldwide.
This association organizes annual international conferences and symposiums with the aim of disseminating research and developments to students, academics, and textile professionals worldwide.
The association has currently 50 member universities from 35 different countries. AUTEX is a unique platform that brings together academics, scientists, and students under a common platform, which supports collaboration in education, research, and innovation in the textile sector.
